Job Hunter Tips: Accelerating Hiring Timelines

Job Hunter Tips Accelerating Hiring TimelinesAs a career coach to career changers, I’ve noticed that often when it rains it pours during a job hunt. For instance, you may be confronted with one job offer and have another decision pending. When I set out to secure my first job, I had to accelerate an interview with Reuters America because my offer from Prudential had an expiration date. My strategy then was focused on my enthusiasm for the opportunity and ultimately how Reuters would benefit from my experience in a prior leadership development program.

Alternatively, my client’s VISA was expiring and as a result he needed to know whether an investment firm was going to be willing to hire him despite his inexperience – in that scenario, I encouraged him to address the hiring manager’s barrier, namely, his need to hire a junior team member to compensate for my client’s inexperience in IB.

In this video, learn about two ways to accelerate a hiring timeline. I encourage you to only use this guidance under two conditions: 1) you really want the job whose timeline you wish to accelerate, and 2) there is a pressing need for you to accelerate that timeline.
